Rent in CQ drastically declines in past two years

RENT in Central Queensland is on the decline, but Rockhampton is still one of the most expensive areas.

A three-bedroom rental in the Rockhampton region will set you back on average $295 a week, while Gladstone isn't far behind on $290, according to the latest Residential Tenancies Authority's statistics for the September quarter.

It was a different story two years ago in 2013 when Gladstone rentals were booming with a three-bedroom house costing $440 a week.

Meanwhile, the Capricorn Coast has stayed steady with rental prices in the past three years, with a three-bedroom home costing anywhere from $300-$350 a week.
