Toowoomba school investigates fire after students burnt

UPDATE 2.31PM: Students involved in a fire incident at Toowoomba State High School will face disciplinary action. 

Just after noon today, paramedics were called to the high school in Stuart St to reports students had been burnt. 

A Department of Education and Training spokesperson confirmed the Queensland Ambulance Service had attended the school just before noon and assessed two students that had suffered minor superficial burns to their legs. 

The spokesperson said they suffered the burns after stamping out a minor grass fire.

"The school is currently investigating the cause of the fire," the spokesperson said. 

"Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken by the principal for any students involved."

The students did not require transport to hospital and remained at school. 

1.05PM: Two students have been treated for superficial burns after an incident at Toowoomba State High School. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said two people had been treated on scene for minor superficial burns to their legs. 

They were not transported to hospital. 

12.30PM: Paramedics are responding to Toowoomba State High School after two students suffered minor burns. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were on scene at the Stuart St campus following the incident just after noon. 

The spokeswoman said two children had suffered burns to their feet while trying to put out a fire.

Reports suggest both students will be transported to hospital. 

BREAKING 12.05PM: Emergency service crews are rushing to Toowoomba State High School after reports of an explosion.

Initial report suggests there are multiple victims at the Mt Lofty campus.

Emergency crews were notified of the incident at 12.05pm.
