Cross-loading is risky activity for truck drivers

CROSS-LOADING cattle between trailers is considered one of the most dangerous activities in the cattle transport supply chain.

To transfer cattle in this manner drivers reverse their trucks together then climb up the side of the cattle crate, stand on top of it and often go inside to move cattle from one trailer to the next.

This exposes drivers to risks associated with working at heights, unpredictable livestock and crushing injuries.
