1.25pm: READERS have shared photos they took of the storm activity across Central Queensland yesterday.

 

9.40am: THE Capricorn Highway has reopened at Black Gully, 5km east of Emerald.

7.40am: MAIN Roads has issued a notice that the Capricorn Highway is closed to all vehicles at Black Gully, 5km east of Emerald.

The road closure comes after Central Queensland received heavy rainfall during thunderstorms overnight.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Rockhampton received 42mm overnight while Biloela received 41.6mm.

The Central Highlands area also recorded heavy rainfalls - Emerald 47.6mm, Blackwater Airport 42.6mm and Lochington 65.8mm.
