Road train rollover closes h'way

THE Landsborough Highway in far west Central Queensland will remain closed all morning following a road train rollover late last night.

Heavy lifting equipment is being brought in from Emerald to clear the truck from the roadway at Darr Creek, north of Longreach.

The road train rolled shortly before 10.30pm yesterday and police expect the highway to be blocked until lunchtime today.

There were no injuries in the accident and police say the vehicle was carrying general cargo.

Motorists intending to travel south from Winton or north from Longreach on the Landsborough Highway are being asked to delay their journey until the road is re-opened.

If travel is urgent contact Longreach Police on 4652 5200.
