Roadworks to be carried out to repair lights at intersection

ROADWORKS at corner of Fitzroy and George Streets to interrupt traffic conditions today.

Police would like to advise Rockhampton motorists that traffic travelling northbound on George Street (in the city) will not be able to turn right into Fitzroy Street until around 2pm due to work on the intersection.

Small vehicles will be able to detour easily, however heavy vehicles are asked to seek an alternate route.

The intersection is under traffic control.

The roadworks come after a cattle train took the corner too widely yesterday and knocked a traffic pole down, which then landed on a 4WD sitting in the lane to turn right onto Fitzroy St.
