ROBBED: Inches away now coach calls for repeat effort
RUGBY LEAGUE: Kim Williams is refusing to label last week's controversial draw with Townsville than anything more than a cracking performance.
One to 17, his whole side have moved on from the video refereeing howler and can be heartened knowing it was one of their best efforts in recent memory.
After a perfect second half with a 100% competition rate and limited missed tackles - Williams was encouraged.
"It is fair to say no player had a bad game," Williams praised.
"The games we have lost, the feedback is that too many have been poor, but the games we have won it is hard to pick a man of the match.
"Krys Freeman and Ken Tofilau were absolutely outstanding, as were Gavin Hiscox and Maipele Morseu but there were 13 other guys who played close to their best game of the year.
"Comments I have received over the last few days, were that on years gone by we would have put the cue in the rack and leaked a big score."
STATS THAT MATTER
- Ken Tofilau - 170m, 1 try, 20 carries
- Matt Groat - 141m, 20 tackles, 14 carries
- Krys Freeman - 72m, 33 tackles, 185km,
- Marco de la Pena - 11m, 20 tackles, 14 carries, 1 try
- Gavin Hiscox - 105m, 24 tackles
- Guy Williams - 113m, 29 tackles
If the weekend's stirring fightback wasn't enough, two of the CQ Capras most popular players in Chanel Seigafo and Ayden Cooper return to the line-up, bolstering the overall vibe and balance.
Both Sam Lollo and Cody Grills (while named) are expected to be the unlucky ones after their solid debuts at the weekend.
Williams has noticed a change in character to the entire squad which has buoyed the team.
"We've had a real focus over the last few weeks on bringing the side together mentally, and I think the new faces have brought desperation and energy in, and our performances have reflected that," he said.
"Cody and Sam both did that, and sometimes that side of things is more important that the skill level of the player.
"It is good to see the character on Sunday, we were confident going into the game and will gain more confidence following it."

Capras are on the road again, heading to a packed Marley Brown Oval in Gladstone. Opponents Northern Pride sit two points higher on the ladder.
"We owe Gladstone crowds a good performance and a repeat of last weekend will give them one," he said.
"Northern Pride are hot and cold and I expect a few fringe Cowboys to feature for them.
"They are definitely a threat and we are wary but we know we can beat them. It is a crucial game for both clubs."
