Rockhampton drug raids to put 11 in court

ELEVEN Rockhampton residents will be called to take the stand in court after police swooped on their properties earlier this week and seized a quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine and cash.

Rockhampton CIB detectives have swooped on nine properties across the city, including Hyde St in Frenchville and south Rockhampton.

Detective Sergeant Nick Williams said the 11 people were arrested or issued with notices to appear in court.

They face a string of drug-related charges.

Det Sgt Williams also said police executed search warrants as a result of information from the public.

It's not believed the homes were part of a specific criminal ring.

He could not confirm how much of each drug was seized but "thousands" of dollars was recovered. He said officers found no more than 50gm of each drug at one property. If you have any information call 1800 333 000.
