Rockhampton Jockey Club appoints Bill Colgan as new CEO

THE Rockhampton Jockey Club last night announced the appointment of widely travelled senior racing administrator Bill Colgan as its new CEO.

A veteran of 24 years in racing administration, Colgan (pictured) commences duties at Callaghan Park racecourse on December 9 and brings with him a wealth of experience.

This includes long stints in management with the Pinjarra Race Club in Western Australia as well being country manager for the West Australian Turf Club between 1999 and 2004.

Between 2005 and 2011, Colgan was the general manager for New Zealand Racing.

He was subsequently appointed the Interim Chief Executive of the New Zealand Racing Board, a position he vacated late last year.

The Bulletin apologises for no race fields today due to lack of space.
