Rockhampton Little Theatre set to sizzle in short and sweet plays

IF YOU'VE had enough of the heat outside this summer maybe it's time to enjoy a different sort of sizzle indoors with Rockhampton Little Theatre (RLT)'s latest offering of "Short Attention Span 2017”.

Theatre delivered in bite-size pieces, almost like a degustation menu, RLT will showcase eight 10-minute plays in the Short + Sweet format which had been previously produced by the Rockhampton Regional Council.

The 10-minute format by necessity must "burn” from the outset - there is no time for character development.

It usually involves a particular situation that unravels fairly quickly.

Most of the plays are written by Queensland playwrights and have a distinctive local flavour that will resonate with theatre goers.

Although the majority of the plays are comedies, three beautiful dramatic pieces have been added to the programme for balance.

The SAS2017 production will be on March 17, 18, 24, and 25 March at the Auditorium, Walter Reid Cultural Centre.

Tickets can be purchased from seeitlive.com.au or at the Pilbeam Theatre.
