Jessica Jonassen is golden girl

ROCKHAMPTON product Jessica Jonassen is the golden girl of Queensland cricket.

Jessica, 18, became the youngest winner of the Kath Smith Medal at the Queensland Grade Cricket Awards dinner on the weekend.

The all-rounder claimed 10 wickets at 9.21 runs apiece with her left-arm spin and scored 277 runs at 30.78 as University reached the finals of the Twenty20 and Katherine Raymont Shield competitions.

Jessica, who is in the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars squad for the 2011-12 season, made it a sweep of the major individual women’s awards this season. She won the Konica Minolta Queensland Fire Player of the Year trophy two weeks ago.
