Rocky council hands down its rate rise - lowest this century

ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council has just handed down its rate rise for the 2015-2016 budget.

The rate rise will be 1.9% averaged across all the components of rates notices.

Mayor Margaret Strelow says this is the lowest rate rise the council has handed down this century.

"We are on a sustainable journey."
