WITH action aplenty around Central Queensland over the weekend, the Rockhampton Rockets reigned supreme posting a fantastic win over Northside Wizards.

The Rockhampton Rockets retained their ladder leading position after taking down Northside Wizards 110-87 in a thriller at Hegvold Stadium in the Queensland Basketball League men's competition while the Frenchville Sports Club Cyclones took down the Wizards 71-60 in the women's league. The Central Queensland Capras had spectators on the edge of their seats at Rockhampton's Browne Park on Saturday night as they battled it out with Norths Devils to fall a penalty kick short of a win 24-22. Central Queensland Energy hit the road on Saturday to take on Moreton Bay Jets and while they put in a valiant effort, went down 5-4 to their opposition.
Rockhampton Rugby League
Rockhampton A-Grade Rugby League action got underway at Yeppoon and in Biloela on Saturday afternoon with Yeppoon Seagulls hosting Brothers while Biloela took on Norths Chargers. At Yeppoon's Webb Park, the Seagulls reigned supreme to take down Brothers 28-22. There was no score available for the Biloela versus Norths game at time of publication.
A-grade Capricornia Aussie Rules games over the weekend saw BITS Saints hold on to their ladder leading position with a 99-58 win over Rockhampton Panthers at Boyne Island. In other games around the region Gladstone Mudcrabs went down to Glenmore Bulls 88-43 while Yeppoon Swans trumped Brothers 197-27. In the women's competition, Panthers defeated BITS 46-6, Glenmore defeated Gladstone 32-30 and Yeppoon defeated Brothers by forfeit.
CQ Rugby Union
In Central Queenland A-grade rugby union results, Frenchville defeated Gladstone 36-22, University defeated Blackwater 31-24 and Capricorn Coast defeated Biloela 33-0 while in the reserve grade, Frenchville defeated Mount Morgan 46-32 and Colts defeated University 28-10.
With only two CQ premier league soccer matches scores available for the weekend, Clinton Premier defeated Southside United 3-2 and CQFC Energy defeated Bluebirds 1-0. Rockhampton hockey results were unavailable at time of publication.
