Rockhampton's draft budget to be handed down tomorrow
ROCKHAMPTON Mayor Margaret Strelow will tomorrow hand down the 2015/16 draft budget at City Hall.
Yesterday Isaac Regional Council handed down its budget, with 221 new projects worth $37.5 million outlined in its Capital Works Budget.
This includes $16.7 million for roads and drainage, $5 million for water, $2.7 million for facilities and recreation and $300,000 for planning and development.
Isaac Mayor Anne Baker said about 78% of ratepayers in the principal place of residence category will see a rate rise of only 2.2% or less in their shire.
Both the Mackay and Central Highlands Regional Councils will hand down their budget today, with Mackay Mayor Deirdre Comerford indicating there will be no increase to rates.
Livingstone Mayor Bill Ludwig said they're about two and a half weeks away from handing down their draft budget.
Last year Rockhampton saw a rate rise of 3.6%.
