ROCKHAMPTON'S most well-known cameraman proved at the weekend why he is a shot above the rest in his game.

WIN Central Queensland's Kent Murray won two awards at the Queensland Multimedia Awards in Cairns.

The first category he won was best news/sports camerawork for his dramatic shot sequence of a river rescue at Moores Creek in January this year when rising floodwater swept an emergency services officer downstream during a rescue mission.

The second accolade, best controversial news story, he jointly shared with Win Local News bureau chief Ellie Sibson for a WIN exclusive bulletin on a Rockhampton woman who went into surgery for a routine bowel surgery but died during the operation.

The local success didn't stop at WIN. Seven Local News cameraman Luke Stephenson was a finalist in the best news/sports camerawork category.
