Rockstars secure premiership

THE energy was overflowing at Berserker Street State School's new indoor stadium on Tuesday.

The two energy drink-named sides, Rockstars and Redbulls, went head-to-head in the Rockhampton Futsal under-12 grand final with both sides hyped up.

Riley Raven and his Rockstars teammates proved too good on the day as Raven, playing at goalkeeper, joined forces with Owen Telford to lead the Rockstars to victory.

Raven made a number of crucial saves while Telford snared four goals in the 6-1 win over Redbulls.

Redbulls players Flyn Hack and Sam Klower looked in good touch, but were foiled by the tenacious defending skills of Ziah Carr and Leighton Parle in defence for the Rockstars.

The winter junior season kicks-off again on May 9 and players can sign-on on May 2 from 5-6pm at Berserker Street State School.
