VIDEO: Today is last day of Rockhampton Show 2015

TODAY is the last day for Rockhampton residents to get their fill of dagwood dogs, fairy floss and roller coaster rides before the Rockhampton Show packs up for another year.

People flocked through the gates yesterday for the public holiday, with a little bit of rain barely putting a dampener on the day.

This year volunteers took back the running of the show from the Rockhampton Regional Council.

One of the volunteers, Sue Byrne, said they had been run off their feet but the event had so far gone "exceptionally well".

"We were super busy on all of the gates," she said, and at 6pm people were still rolling in ahead of the major event, the fireworks.

They're expecting the same thing to happen tonight for the speedway, which starts at 6pm.
