Rocky gets best rain in 10 months

ROCKHAMPTON has endured one of its biggest drenching this year with 81mm of rain over the last 24 hours.

Some low-level flooding has been reported from the overnight downpour and a Bureau of Meteorology forecaster says more storms and rain are expected for Rockhampton today.

The heaviest rain this year was on February 11 when 87.4mm soaked the city. The next significant fall after that was on April 5 when only 26.6mm was recorded.

Since Christmas Day, Rockhampton has received 125mm of rain, which is above the monthly average for December.
