Rocky has a ball on New Years Eve

LADIES glammed up in their chic outfits and guys got into the spirit with gangster attire for the biggest New Years Eve party in Rockhampton.

Thousands of pumped party goers from all over Central Queensland and outer-towners saw in 2010 with a blast at the Gangster and Glamour Ball at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.

Australian country music Adam Brand was the headlining act of the night.

Jody Raiti and her college friend’s road tripped from Townsville to Rockhampton on Monday for the festive season and to experience the ball in Rocky for the first time.

“There are 12 of us that all live on college in Townsville together so we thought we would make a week of it,” Jody said from the ball last night.

Jody and the girls had the inside goss from Rocky party goers about what to wear for the big night.

“We were told not to wear anything too flash that could get wrecked because things get a bit wild,” she said.

So they grabbed cute and cheap party dresses, lots of bling and comfortable flats to party the night away.

But the ball wasn’t the city’s only big New Year party.

There was plenty of festive fever flowing around the region last night with live performers, deejays, karaoke and dance parties pumping until early hours of this morning.
