Rocky High invests new prefects

A SELECT group of Rockhampton State High School senior students were awarded their prefect badges at a ceremony held recently at the school.

Fourteen students were selected for the prestigious position after having gone through a rigorous application and interview process.

Students were selected to represent the student body in 2010 and were formally acknowledged at a Prefect Investiture held at the school.

State minister and local MP Robert Schwarten delivered some inspirational words to the new prefects. He spoke of the confidence he had in the future when he saw the wonderful achievements of “our young people”.

Other invited guests included parents and friends.

Prefect Ryan Nicholson said: “I feel honoured to be selected as a prefect and I look forward to carrying out my duties in this role.”
