JASON Wells' Rockhampton cricket side is looking forward to facing Gladstone after bowling over Central Highlands.

Frenchville Sports Club was a hub of cricket action over the weekend as Rockhampton hosted Central Highlands in a thrilling match with a soggy end.

Despite getting off to a shaky start, Rockhampton managed to account for Central Highlands in the Central Queensland cricket competition and Rocky captain Wells could not be happier.

While it came down to the wire, Wells said he was quite pleased with his squad's performance against a tough CH side.

"It was a great game until the rain came down," Wells said.

"Central Highlands won the toss and went in to bat and we managed to bowl them out for 139 in the 39th over which I was quite pleased with.

"Batting-wise, we started off shaky and lost our two openers but ended up having a higher run rate than required with only four out for 92 before the game was rained out."

Rockhampton won the game on run rate.

Wells gave credit to fellow Rocky players Tim Reid and Justin Peacock for their bowling efforts and dubbed Shaun Gilvear as the side's best batsman.

The captain also praised Central Highlands for their impressive bowling attack and said it was fantastic to see the sport developing so much in the region.

Rockhampton will face Gladstone in Gladstone on December 8.
