Rocky search for troublesome teens
Then maybe experiencing life with a strict overseas family is what he or she needs to break down their attitude.
Channel 7 is on the hunt for troublesome teenagers from Central Queensland to take part in the second series of its highly successful program, World’s Strictest Parents.
Hosted by Axle Whitehead, who has recently been staring on Home and Away, the show aims to tame Australia’s headstrong teens through firm rules and boundaries.
The first series, aired earlier this year, saw 10 teenagers from Sydney, Melbourne, Hervey Bay, Perth, Adelaide, Ballina and the Sunshine Coast spend seven days with a new family.
They travelled to America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
These parents have tough rules – and even tougher punishments.
Most of the teens in the first series refused to get jobs and had given their parents a “gutful”.
But in 2010 Channel 7 wants to reach out beyond the major cities of Australia and is looking right here in Rockhampton.
The show’s executive producer, Sonya Wilkes, said it offered teenagers who had gone off the rails a chance to start turning their lives around.
“In our new series we are keen to explore issues particular to teenagers in regional and rural areas.”
“The families overseas have very definite views on how they think teens should be brought up. Often the teens come back home reformed and willing to improve their behaviour and relationships.”
