Rocky shivers through a cold July
ALTHOUGH this morning wasn’t as cold in Rockhampton as yesterday, when the temperature dropped to 3.9 degrees, it was still pretty cold.
Rocky’s minimum this morning was 5.8 degrees at 3.26am.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Mike Marrinan said Monday’s low was coldest July morning for a couple of years.
Mr Marrinan said the overnight temperature was lower than usual.
“The average minimum for this time of year is 9.5 but it is currently 7.5 which is 2.5 degrees lower than usual, which is a significant drop,” he said.
Mr Marrinan said tonight’s temperatures should get back to normal at around 10-11 degrees.
