Derby sides set for a sleighing at Xsmash at uni complex

LOCAL mum Sabrina Toby will transform into roller derby renegade Rink Bitz next weekend as Rocky Roller Derby dishes up XSmash (pronounced Chrismash) in July.

There will be no need for those winter warmers as the action heats up at CQUniversity Sports Complex on July 26, when Rink Bitz and her Beef City Brawlers host local rivals Yeppoon Roller Derby.

Rink Bitz, Stealth Bombher, Stack the Ripper and the Beef City Brawlers had Yeppoon Roller Derby's measure the last time the two sides met, but club founder and former Beef City Brawler Sue Allen (AKA Ransack) will be doing her best to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Played over two 30-minute halves, the high-speed action between the two clubs will be on show locally for the first time.

Anyone wishing to get involved in the sport should like Rocky Roller Derby on Facebook or attend the club's recruitment day on August 2.
