Rookies give lineout more security

RUGBY UNION: The Wallabies' troubled lineout has finally clicked thanks to outstanding performances by rookie locks Adam Coleman and Rory Arnold against Wales on the weekend.

After home Tests where the set piece was fragile, the lineout against the Welsh was as strong as in recent memory.

With Coleman calling the shots, and the 208cm Arnold reeling in Stephen Moore's accurate throws, Australia's lineout suddenly was dominant.

The youngsters made the experienced Luke Charteris and Bradley Davies look second-rate.

Australia won 12 of 13 lineouts on their own throw, and their first try - to Moore after 11 minutes - came from a rolling maul after a lineout close to the tryline.

Moore, who has been criticised for his lineout throwing this year, was pleased with the improvement.

"I don't think we lost that many and I thought Adam did a really good job of calling there,” Moore told the media.

But he warned that Scotland's brothers Richie and Jonny Gray would be a tough.

"As always, that's behind us now. We need to get ready to perform again next week,” Moore said.

"Scotland will be very tough up there.”

Will Genia is back in camp with the Wallabies after being released by his French club Stade Francais.

Genia will be with the squad for the Scotland, France and Ireland Tests but his availability for the final Test against England on December 4 (AEST) is unclear.
