RSPCA investigating alleged incident at Isis Pet Resort
THE owner of a Bundaberg region pet resort has praised the care its staff provide after the RSPCA yesterday confirmed it was investigating a complaint.
A spokesman from the RSPCA confirmed a complaint had been lodged against Isis Pet Resort and this would be investigated.
However the spokesman said he could not go into the details and nature of the allegations.
A post made on social media on Wednesday night has generated more than 170 comments by yesterday afternoon.
The pet resort's owner Chris Bazzocco said while she had not seen the photos, she was aware of the situation.
Ms Bazzocco said she couldn't go into specifics of the allegation, but was disappointed to see someone had written negative comments about the business.
Ms Bazzocco said they did not have any clients under the name used on the post, but had spoken with someone about their dog's teeth and offered to go through insurance but the customer had opted not to take up this offer.
Ms Bazzocco said they had very clear monitoring systems for feeding, toileting and general wellbeing of dogs in their care.
Welcoming inspections, Ms Bazzocco said: "We have nothing to hide".
She said a lot of people come and inspect the resort before choosing to leave their pets and that was a process they encouraged.
She said they had plenty of procedures, feeding the dogs super premium dog food, an amazing team and wonderful clients.
"We love what we do," she said.
Ms Bazzocco said assuming the post was from the same person she had spoken to, they had boarded their pets at the resort before.
At the time of the suspected weekend in question, she said they had 58 dogs at the resort.
With the school holidays well and truly underway at the moment, yesterday they had 79 dogs.
When speaking to the NewsMail yesterday morning, Ms Bazzocco said the RSPCA had not made contact with the resort.
The Isis Pet Resort also took to Facebook to reiterate its commitment to providing quality animal care for dogs and cats, and that it had been doing so for 12 years.
