BON voyage, it's time to take a ride on the SS American, with the Anything Goes crew performing up a storm for Rockhampton's musical fanatics.

The Rockhampton Musical Union Choir produce an authentic and enthusiastic performance of Cole Porter's Musical, Anything Goes.

An absolute star performance from leading star Kara Lane who portrays Reno Sweeney, an Evangelist turned nightclub singer.

Prior to her United Kingdom entertainment performance adventures, Kara studied music and dance at CQUniversity (Mackay).

Now Kara has returned home to put her heart and soul into workshops in preparation for this musical and give the land down under a glimpse of the UK musical theatre industry.

Other star highlights in performing were Matthew Dennis, who did an excellent job portraying the loveable, dorky and ecstatic character Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

Moonface Martin (Anthony Campbell), a gangster in hiding, and his partner in crime Elma (Melissa Fenlon) were a hilarious duo, cracking jokes packed with their sassy personality.

Another stand out were in the two minor roles, where Bill Paterson and Kurt Swadling produced charismatic performance of two Chinese boys trying to find God.

The entire performance shone with enthusiasm and heart from all performers, which highlighted their outstanding acting, dance and vocals.

You could really sense the passion, enthusiasm and humble commitment from the team who put this performance together, and I think this was definitely a well-deserved result from all.

The performance was a lot of fun to watch, with an intriguing story line, a few hidden innuendos and some mild comedy throughout.

Never less, this didn't distract from the story line of Billy Crocker (Michael Robertson) finding his one true love Hope Harcourt (Tegan Gargett), while trying to escape being caught by his boss, Elisha Whitney (Darryl Strelow) and security.

Anything goes, really does go, with a tap and a dance and some swift smooth sailing on the SS American cruise brought to you from the land down under.

Sail away, forget your job, the things you need to clean at home and take a relaxing cruise away and watch this remarkable local performance that will have you tapping to the beat with a few giggles along the way.
