Saluting Olympic legends

AS Australian athletes prepare to compete at the London Olympics which starts in 38 days, we will be looking back at those who have represented our country in the past.

Today's Blast from the Past is Rockhampton hockey player Kym Ireland, who represented Australia at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics - it was the first time the Australian women's team played at the Olympics.

The team, known as the Hockeyroos, came fourth that year.

Throughout this week, The Morning Bulletin would like to pay tribute to former Olympians and needs the community's assistance.

If you know the name of any Rockhampton-born former Olympians, please call the newsroom on 4930 4283.
