Salvos launch Red Shield Appeal

ABOUT 200 business people attended The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal launch in Rockhampton earlier this morning.

Held at the Frenchville Sports Club, Salvos’ Captain Meaghan Gallagher said guest speaker former Australian cricketer Carl Rackemann kept everyone in stitches.

The charity hopes to raise $243,000 from this year’s annual fundraiser and doorknock appeal.

The Salvos assist about one million people in crisis through their services each year.

To donate call 13 72 58 or wait for the weekend of the doorknock.
