Santa pays a visit to library

HE’S only two years old, but Gracemere’s Bailey Stevens already loves the thrill of Christmas Day.

The cute blonde-haired and blue-eyed youngster is up at 5.30am Christmas morning and as well as unwrapping his own presents, he manages to rip open the whole family’s.

Yesterday Bailey, who was full of excitement, was the first to sit on Santa’s lap for a present when the big man in red visited the Rockhampton Regional Council Library during a special Christmas party.

After the library staff put their acting skills into practice for an entertaining story-telling session, Santa Claus arrived for his special visit in style on a Harley Davidson.

As little Bailey opened his lolly treat from Santa, he said he had been a good boy and he wanted cars and trucks for Christmas this year.

Children’s musician Dean McKay entertained the kiddies with Christmas songs, a Wild Readers Theatre version of “Brown Bread and Honey” and Deputy Mayor Rose Swadling also read an Australian Christmas picture book to the kids.
