Sarah raises the bar with training

SARAH Busby is raising the bar in her quest to take on the world's best sprinters - literally.

Busby, 18, has returned home after another successful trip to the Gold Coast at last weekend's Down Under meeting.

The Rockhampton sprinter won silver in the under-20 women's 100m and 200m events against opposition from Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Busby posted her fastest times for 2009 at the event, clocking 12.46 seconds for the 100m and 25.61 seconds for the 200m.

She credits some unique training methods, which include lifting heavy links of chain, under the watchful eye of local fitness guru and Comets strength and conditioning coach Larry McDonald, as one of the reasons behind her rapid improvements.
