Although the bride remained true to a woman's firm belief in wearing an elegant gown, she wore blue, red and white hair extensions.

The groom made one slight adjustment to his gears by wearing a tie with the Australian flag design on it.

Conditions were a bit blustery yesterday for the Emu Park newlyweds, who tied the knot in an intimate affair at the seaside town's Singing Ship.

More than 50 people, some wearing flags and thongs, attended the wedding before the party made its way to the bowls club in Emu Park.

Amanda's friend Caine Burraston told The Morning Bulletin even the reception venue was decked out with Australia Day insignia.
