Looking for something to keep the kids entertained this school holidays? Here's a handy list of what's on for kids around the region for the rest of the week: 

Today

  1. Go along to the FLOW centre and see, or even touch, a shingleback lizard, blue-tongue lizard, bearded dragon, snakes, Storr's pygmy monitor and freshwater turtles. Sessions run from 11am to 12pm and 12.30pm until 1.30pm.
  2.  Make your own Gratitude Jar and decorate your personal journal. This is a great activity for mums and children during the school holidays. All materials and refreshments supplied. Cost $35 for single/ $50 for mother/child and $15 for additional child. RSVP April 4 to Shanelle on 0415 565 456.
  3. Get your children outside during the school holidays with some great activities at the Heritage Village including feeding the animals and rides on the stagecoach, vintage cars and ponies. For more information contact the Heritage Village on 4936 8680. Village is open from 9am - 12pm.
  4. Scratch Programming Workshop. An introduction to code for beginners on how to create your own game. This event is suitable for those aged eight to 12. Event to be held from 2pm - 4pm at the Rockhampton Regional Library.
  5. Explore the gardens during guided nature rambles and learn about plants with Ranger Mark this Easter holidays. Enjoy fun games, stories and making new friends. Suitable for 4 to 12 years. Meet at the Banyan Picnic Area behind the Gardens Tearooms. Registration is at 9.45am with activities running from 10am - 12pm.

Tomorrow

  1. Funzone kid's day will take place from 10am until 1pm. 10-minute laser tag missions are run throughout the session and a variety of mission formats will be played . The arcade will be free to play for the session. Maximum of 60 tickets available, pre-book to avoid disappointment. $20 member, $25 non member. (Rate includes membership).

  4.  The Cap Coast Youth Planning Committee invites you to celebrate Youth Week - FurtureUStic. There are Laser skirmish games organised (booking essential on 4913 3840), arts in the park and workshops along with an outdoor family movie from 7pm. There will also be a best selfie on the day prize.

Every Tuesday

  1.  No lights no Lycra dance classes will be held at the Queen St Community Hall in Yeppoon from 7.15pm to 8.15pm. The cost is $5 to $7. For more info, contact Julie on 0427 211 882.
