Seagulls kick off 2012 season
RUGBY League kicks off in earnest in this region on Saturday with two big games of footy scheduled for Bilambil Sports Complex, home of the Bilambil Jets.
The main game features a clash between Tweed Heads Seagulls and Sydney outfit, Windsor Wolves while in the earlier fixture, SAE Group Bilambil Jets, the Bycroft Cup premiers, take on the Gold Coast Titans Under 20 years squad.
Both sides in the main event play in their respective states' second tier competition - Seagulls in the Queensland Intrust Cup and Windsor Wolves in the NSW Cup.
The Wolves are a feeder club for Penrith Panthers and the Seagulls of course have their allegiances with the Titans.
The Seagulls and Wolves get onto the paddock at 5pm (NSW) and the other outfits get their chance to strut their stuff at 7pm.
Bilambil Jets president, says all the club's off-season recruits will appear in the trial.
"Guy and Drew Lanston are back after taking a year off and from what I've seen at training, they are as keen as mustard to get back into footy," Mr Rigney said.
Also pulling on Jets jerseys are speedy centre Shannon Murphy who has switched camps from Cudgen Hornets, livewire ex-Tweed Coast hooker, Jamie Donaldson and lump of a lad forward, Lain Windley who comes into the club from the Gold Coast Titans under 20s.
