Search for man who threatened boy, 10, with knife at school

POLICE are still appealing for the public's help to find a man who allegedly threatened a 10-year-old boy with a knife at Maryborough West State School on Tuesday afternoon.

Police released a comfit image of the man on Wednesday afternoon, appealing for the public to help locate the man.

Maryborough police Child Protection Unit Senior Constable Adam Spinks said the search was ongoing.

"We have had information generated from the comfit but nothing that would lead to an arrest," he said.

The man allegedly threatened the boy when he went to get a drink about 12.40pm.

He ran to teachers when the man threatened him with a knife.

Snr Const Spinks urged anyone with any information to come forward, particularly those in the areas around Churchill, Ariadne, Walker, Yarralla  and Neptune streets.

If you have any information on the man or saw anything call Crime Stoppers  on 1800 333 000 or Police Link on 131 444.
