Maryborough woman, 20, killed in highway crash

A 20-year-old Maryborough woman has died after a vehicle rollover at Coalbank, north of Toowoomba, on Fatality Free Friday.

Two rescue helicopters responded to the crash that occurred on the New England Highway at 4.10pm on Friday but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people were in the vehicle - three adults and a five-month-old baby. The baby did not sustain any serious injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A 46-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man, both from Maryborough, were transported to hospital in a stable condition.

A five-month-old baby boy was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Police investigations indicate that around 4pm the driver lost control of the car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, causing it to roll multiple times.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations took place, but it has since reopened.

The Maryborough woman was due to turn 21 next Wednesday.
