SES to benefit from social morning tea

IF YOU need help, the State Emergency Service is always there.

But tomorrow, the Rockhampton and District Benefit Association will give back to the dedicated SES volunteers of Central Queensland with a monthly morning tea.

Association president Cherie Weatherall said there were so many aspects of community life which couldn't operate without volunteers.

"During the cyclone, the SES were helping so many people in the community, I think they're very deserving," she said.

Ms Weatherall said the charities the association supported all used the money to support the Central Queensland community.

Last month's morning tea raised $2000 for the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service and Ms Weatherall said she hoped they would raise the same this month.

All people are welcome to attend the morning tea at the Frenchville Sports Club tomorrow.

The colour theme is aqua, with tickets $14 for adults and $9 for children.

Rockhampton and Livingstone SES controller Eddie Cowie will be the guest speaker.

Call Melody on 4928 2659 to book a ticket.
