Severe thunderstorm warning for CQ areas

7.10pm: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for  the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts.

it was issued at 7:04 pm Sunday  at 7.55pm one of storms was 60km west of Rockhampton.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Biloela, Monto, Baralaba, Marlborough, Moura, Maroochydore, Moreton Bay and islands, Caboolture and Caloundra.

 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
