Shooter hits her mark in the major semi-final on Wednesday

JUANITA Hill has 48 reasons to smile.

Hill and her Brothers Crimson netball teammates are on the fast track to success after booking their place in the 2013 Rockhampton Netball Association A-grade Netball grand final.

The Crimson goal shooter had her radar on in the major semi-final on Wednesday night.

Despite being unwell, Hill managed to deliver 48 goals in her side's 51-31 trumping of Colts Divas.

Hill's effort secured her Brothers Crimson's player of the match honours.

"I was a bit off my game on Wednesday night as I've been off sick for two weeks and hadn't trained or played," Hill said.

"The game was my first one back, and I was still a bit under the weather, so the player of the match award came as a bit of a surprise."

With the pressure mounting for Brothers Crimson to defend their champions status for the third year in a row, Hill welcomed the week off to prepare.

"It was good to secure the spot in the grand final instead of having to play again this week," she said.

"We will all be rested and ready for the grand final."

Having been with the Brothers side for a few years now, Hill said the squad had a strong bond which would be hard to beat.

"We're always going to come out strong and having been together for three years our team works so well together," she said.

"We have progressed and learnt a lot along the way this season and I think what gave us the upper hand (on Wednesday night) was knowing our opposition, and having strong coaches who knew the teams we were up against better than us as players.

"I really just want to give our two coaches, Tanya Shuker and Sally Kuhl, a wrap because they are fantastic and I have never had coaches that are so supportive and knowledgeable - they are a great combination."

Brothers Crimson face the winner of next Wednesday night's preliminary final between Colts Divas and Frenchville Brumbies in the grand final on September 14.
