Man upset with bar staff after being over-charged
WHEN Peter Mccue was given the wrong change for a drink on a night out at Giddy Goat, he got upset with bar staff and ended up in Rockhampton Magistrates Court.
Mccue pleaded guilty to one count of contravening the direction of police in court yesterday after he got upset at bar staff for over-charging him for a drink.
A defence lawyer told the court Mccue handed over a $100 note for the drink but was only given $10 change, contesting the matter with staff.
"He got upset and wasn't able to let the matter go," he said.
Police saw Mccue being forcibly removed from the premises by security before he hurled verbal abuse at staff and police and ignored a move-on direction.
The court heard instead of leaving the area, Mccue sat on a bench outside the premises and chatted with another male.
Mr Clarke told Mccue, a bartender, he should have dealt with the matter differently.
"Maybe you should spend your Saturday nights at home if this is the way you behave on the drink," Mr Clarke said.
Mccue was fined $150 with no conviction recorded.
