'Silly mistake': Driver tested positive for ecstasy, MDMA

A DRIVER caught with ecstasy and marijuana in his system has walked from court with no conviction recorded.

Riley Bernard Macdougall, 22, from Cannon Valley tested positive to MDMA and marijuana on October 8, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to driving with the drugs in his saliva at Yalboroo in Mackay Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer said Macdougall had "everything going for him" and warned him to meddle with drugs at his peril, and Macdougall replied he'd simply made a "silly mistake".

Macdougall was disqualified from driving for six months and fined $710.
