Six weeks in: Customers flock to Cap Coast cafe
THE Tango Room Cafe and Bar at Emu Park opened its doors six weeks ago and already customers are flocking in to enjoy the European ambience and culinary delights.
Owner Sherry Zimpel said when planning the new cafe she wanted to bring something different to the Emu Park community.
Having travelled extensively and with her love of cooking, Sherry knew instinctively what she wanted to bring to the table.
"I wanted to present home-made and unique food that you can't purchase elsewhere,” Sherry said.
"My Italian/French- influenced menu is all prepared on site. It is all made with fresh ingredients purchased locally wherever possible and served with care.
"Tango Room Cafe itself has a relaxing rustic French look and is designed so people can relax and enjoy the food, the beachside surroundings and enjoyable company.”
Sherry said the facility also came with a large room for functions, events and as a place for community groups and the arts.
"I am an advocate of the arts and very supportive of local community groups so it is wonderful to have the space available to facilitate small and large groups,” she said.
"We serve amazing guru coffee from the Sunshine Coast and plan to host high teas, book club events and other functions to support the local community.”
Tango Room Cafe and Bar now employs four local staff and a trainee barista.
It will soon be a licensed premises and Sherry said they were happy to cater to customers' needs.
Having lived in the Emu Park area for over 17 years, and having travelled throughout Europe extensively, Sherry said it was wonderful to bring her experience and knowledge back to the place she lovingly calls home.
Tango Room Cafe and Bar is located at 19 Granville St, Emu Park.
