Sizzling thanks

RESIDENTS of Lakes Creek, Koongal, Nerimbera, Frenchville, Norman Gardens and Berserker Heights are invited to free sausage sizzles on Sunday to mark their work in helping each other survive the worst bushfires in the city's history.

Rockhampton Regional Council is organising two sizzles - at the CWA Hall in Poinciana Street from 11am to 1pm and at Joyce Harding Park, Moyle Street from 2pm to 4pm.

The Mayoress Regional Charity Foundation will pass the hat for a gold coin donation, with funds raised going to volunteer firefighters.

Water gift

Coca-Cola Amatil will send 80 cartons of Mount Franklin water to the tireless firefighters in Rockhampton.

They will arrive at the North Rockhampton Fire Station tomorrow. It is in response to The Morning Bulletin's Wednesday article on how to feed 200 firefighters.

The company said the project was one way Coca-Cola Amatil in Queensland was supporting the communities it worked within.
