The fire, which started yesterday, poses no threat to properties but is causing a smoke hazard on the highway.

Fire crews will be conducting backburning operations this afternoon.

Motorists are urged to drive to conditions and be mindful that emergency services personnel are operating in the area.

Residents are advised to close doors and windows and if they suffer from a respiratory illness and to keep medications close by.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
