Society needs your memorabillia

THE Capricorn Coast Historical Society has been active during recent months and is seeking information and photographs to continue its work recording the history of the region.

"Many people stopped to talk with us at our stand at Yeppoon Central Shopping Centre during early January and we received valuable information and material for the collection," member Peter Cook said.

Mr Cook has produced some of the society's publications, including Festival, Fun & Frivolity - Yeppoon's Pineapple Festival.

"Sales of the 2012 calendar and the recently published book, History Revealed, have been excellent," he said.

Two more books are planned for 2012 and another calendar later in the year.

If anyone can help, contact Peter Cook on 4939 2491, Mary Bevis on 4933 7006, or drop into the history centre on Normanby St opposite the Town Hall carpark any Tuesday morning for a chat.
