Terry's search for his dad begins with a name and place
IT HAS been many years of wondering and over thinking but now, Rockhampton man Terry Ballard has finally decided to action his thoughts and find his biological father.
The 30-year-old took to social media last week in the search for his dad Tony Bell, who he believes was a truck driver in Gin Gin in 1984.
"I don't have a lot of information except for he was a truck driver just passing through when my mum, Michele Heron, met him," he said.
"She was 19 at the time."
"I just think it is time. I do not know him and I have a gap in my heart that needs to be filled and a part of the puzzle that needs to be put back together."
Mr Ballard posted a photo of himself on the On The Pads "Qld Edition" Facebook in an attempt to track down his biological dad and said he had a few people contact him so far but nothing concrete to go off.
"I had a photo sent to me of a man who looked similar to me," he said.
"Other than that, there hasn't been much else.
"If he is out there and he sees any of this, I hope he reaches out and isn't afraid to get in contact with me."
Mr Ballard, who has four children, said it was his partner who urged him to get online and start searching for his dad.
"Mr wife pushed me to look harder. She believes every child should know their father," he said.
"I just hope, after all these years of not doing anything, no one judges me."
If the pair could be united, Mr Ballard said he would be overjoyed.
"It will be very emotional, I wouldn't know what to say to him," he said.
"My stepfather has always been there for me and I love him to bits and definitely wouldn't change that part of my life. He has been great.
"It is just, knowing who my real father is - that's my goal."

Mr Ballard's post on social media reads:
"I am 31 on the 27/12/2015. I was conceived in late January, early February 1984 in Bundaberg, Queensland.
"My father was a truck driver and met my mother Michele Heron in Gin Gin, Queensland.
"She was 19 at the time and had brown hair, she tells me his name was Tony Bell.
"I don't know if he knows about me, but I would love to find him, so please share this and help me find my dad."
