Spectacular show comes direct from Broadway sell-out season
SPECTACULAR and colourful in the tradition of outstanding cirque performances is Cirque Mother Africa, which returns to Australian shores after four years.
Direct from a sell-out Broadway season, Cirque Mother Africa combines the best of all of classic circus elements pulsating to the heartbeat of Africa.
The show will be performed at Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre next Wednesday, July 9.
Cirque Mother Africa features new acts, new music and traditional African costumes bringing together an entertainment extravaganza from the length and breadth of the African continent.
The show is the brainchild of former street performer Winston Ruddle, who founded his own artist academy in Tanzania to train young, talented Africans to tour with the production.
The action is underpinned by a vibrant live music score performed by the stomping In Africa Band, which features the traditional tones of the Kora, a 20-string instrument from the West Coast of Africa that sounds like a mixture between a guitar and a harp and a trio of female vocalists from South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The cast perform skilful acrobatics and dances with athleticism and charisma while showing off the full circus range of juggling, contortionists and high-wire feats.
