Spectre makes history with largest ever film explosion
EXPLOSIONS and car chases have always been the hallmarks of the James Bond franchise.
But today the 24th instalment Spectre was awarded a Guinness World Records title for the largest film stunt explosion.
The explosion was filmed as part of a pivotal scene in June in Morocco and used 8418 litres of fuel and 33kg of explosives.
Producer Barbara Broccoli and stars Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux - who appear in the scene - accepted the record certificate on behalf of the official title holder, Oscar winner Chris Corbould, who served as Special Effects and Miniature Effects Supervisor on Spectre.
In a behind the scenes video director Sam Mendes, Craig and the crew can be seen celebrating the meticulously planned stunt.
Spectre opens nationally tomorrow.
