Spend summer in Capricorn

HALF a million local residents within the 400km radius drive market across Central Queensland are being targeted this month to spend their summer holidays on the Capricorn Coast.

This is the biggest summer campaign we have executed to date; just under $50,000 total in cash and in-kind thanks to the incredible support we've received from News Corp, Southern Cross Austero, Cooper McKenzie, and of course, our tourism members.

Promoted under the Capricorn Holidays banner, we showcase fantastic holiday deals in the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region, across all media channels, with a new television commercial, radio promotions, digital marketing and newspaper inserts all aimed at enticing locals to spend their summer in region and support local businesses.

A newspaper promotional flier insert on the weekend with News Corp reached CQ readers in the Rockhampton/Capricorn Coast, Emerald, Mackay, Gladstone, Bundy and Fraser Coast markets.

The flyer features over 20 holiday deals to potential customers, all within easy driving distance for Central Queensland residents.

We thanks the following businesses who have offered fantastic deals: Great Keppel Island Hideaway/Keppel Konnections, Empire and Edge Apartment Hotels, Freedom Fastcats, GKI Adventures, Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Koorana Crocodile Farm, Ferns Hideaway, Quality Hotel Regent Rockhampton, Capricorn Caves, Mount Hay Gemstone Tourist Park, Footlights Theatre Restaurant, Emus Beach Resort, The Waterline Restaurant Keppel Bay Marina, Vue Restaurant & Wine Bar, Sail Capricornia, Travelodge Rockhampton, Stranded Beach Stay, The Strand Hotel, Beaches on Lammermoor and Queensland Rail.

There'll be MMM stereo street patrols giving out amazing prizes Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week and next week, visiting Keppel Bay Marina, Pier One Rosslyn Bay Harbour, Empire Apartment Hotel, Great Western Hotel, Singing Ship, Bell Park, Salt Apartments, Bluff Point Walking Track, Headricks Lane, Botanic Gardens.

The major prize of $1100 from Great Keppel Island Hideaway can be used towards accommodation, transfers and meals, reminding locals that Great Keppel Island is a world-class tropical island destination - being recently voted number 6 in Australia's 2017 Top 10 Islands to Experience by Experience Oz + NZ.

Two other prizes on offer focus on events happening in Rockhampton over Christmas, with tickets to Rockin Rocky at the Great Western Hotel and One Hot Night concert with Busby Marou, accommodation by Edge and Empire Apartment Hotels and things to do including Koorana Crocodile Farm, Capricorn Caves and Headricks Lane.
