Spring fling on the peninsula
VICTORIA'S Mornington Peninsula villages, vineyards, galleries, gardens and restaurants, an hour's drive from Melbourne, have got together to create the region's first-ever Spring Fling.
The tourism initiative involves more than 30 events and special offers, including 11 great-value accommodation packages for visitors during September and October.
Events include the free Scarecrow Festival and Trail in the hinterland, the Sorrento Arts Heritage Weekend with a fundraising "river of bowls" on Sorrento back beach, a meet-the-artists weekend where 21 artists open their studios, seniors' golf tournaments, fashion styling workshops, and a range of special offers including discounts on horse riding and family maze tickets.

Bike tour and cottage stay
Two nights in a spacious cottage with tennis court and outdoor spa, plus a self-guided audio bike riding tour of Point Nepean. From $290 per couple.
